Following pressure from lobbies, rallies and demos, Bristol City Council finally passed a motion to stand with workers in Palestine and Bristol to demand the Avon Pension Fund divests the £22mil it currently holds in companies complicit in Israel’s massacre of Palestinians.
Local activists in Bristol NEU, UNISON and Bristol Trades Council have been campaigning to stop support staff pensions (along with all local government pensions in Bath, Bristol, South Glos and North Somerset) being invested in genocide and are overjoyed Bristol Council took this stance in the same week a ceasefire was announced.
The workers united, will never be defeated! Free, free Palestine!
